A great new family tradition with wine and cookies too!
Thanksgiving is all about family, fun and food. Now you can add fun and activity! Bring all your relatives, house guests, cooking buddies and little turkeys out for the Flying Feather Four Miler, Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2010.
We will be limiting the race to the first 3,000 participants to ensure the best race experience possible—please register early so you don't miss out!
All adult participants will receive a bottle of wine for the Thanksgiving Table! Kids should get a piece of the pie, or COOKIE too! Every young gobbler participating in the Four Miler or Gobbler Chase will receive specially made, packaged Thanksgiving Day cookies. Kids 10 and under can participate in the Kids' Gobbler Chase, which takes place before the four miler so parents and family can cheer the kids on.
Kids' Gobbler Chase
The Kids' Gobbler Chase begins at 8:30 — a short gallop (less than a quarter of a mile) around Tartan for children of all ages with some former Buckeye players and coaches, all to benefit the Second & Seven Foundation. Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate and help their kids. Each child participant receives a t-shirt and a copy of the new book from Second & Seven.
Everyone Welcome!
This is truly an event for every pace and person. Runners, walkers, gobblers and everyone in between—this is YOUR event!!! The Flying Feather Four Miler is the Thanksgiving Day event for you!

A GREAT COURSE!
The Flying Feather Four Miler winds around a brand new loop course through the Glacier Ridge Metro Park. See map at right (click to enlarge). It is an accurate four (4) mile course that will be certified by the United States Track and Field Association.
Start Times
- The Kids' Gobbler Chase: 8:30am
- The Flying Feather Four Miler: 9:00am
Please bring an unwrapped, unopened toy to donate for the children in need this holiday season!
We will have several Marines at the race site representing the Toys for Tots
program. Last year we were the largest donation spot in Columbus and we want to top that this year!
Parking & Directions
The main parking lot for this event is at the Manley Road Lot directly across from Corazon Drive (under the water tower). Parking is NOT at Dublin Jerome High School this year.
The Manley Road lot is less than 3/4 of a mile from the start line (walk or run South down Corazon Drive from the lot) so if you'd like to get a warm up in you are welcome or you can take a shuttle bus from the lot to the start line. There will be shuttle buses running from 7:00–8:30am and again from 10:00–11:30am. Please remember that we are trying to transport 2000 people plus volunteers.
The Kids run will start promptly at 8:30am and the Flying Feather will start at 9:00am so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time.
There is a limited amount of parking in and around the streets of Corazon for those participants who get there before 7:00am.
Rules of the Road
Please note that the course will remain open for one (1) hour and twenty (20) minutes — this is a 20 minutes per mile pace.
We have some elite, very fast and fast runners. Please let them in the front of the pack. They will be out of your way before you can say "Happy Thanksgiving".
The following are NOT permitted in the event:
Pets, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades, or any other types of vehicles (other than official vehicles). These regulations are for your safety and the safety of the other participants in the race.
Jogging Strollers are permitted provided you start in the very back of the field and are walking or moving slowly.
A GREAT RACE PACKET!
Every entrant in the event receives (voted by Runner's World Magazine as the best Schwag in all of running):
- Long Sleeve Technical Running Shirt
- A bottle of Covey Run Riesling for your Thanksgiving Table (or Cheryl's cookies for our friends under 21)
- Hat and Gloves
- A Finisher's Medal to show off at Thanksgiving dinner!
